You are responsible for your deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance which is due at the time of your appointment. Few policies cover 100% of the cost and collection of insurance claims is ultimately the insured client’s responsibility, regardless of network status. Submitting claims to your insurance provider is a service provided to you as a courtesy. These insurance benefits will be paid directly to your therapist.

Please understand that you (not your insurance company) are fully responsible for payment of any incurred fees. For this reason, I highly encourage you to find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers and what your deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance is prior to your first session. If you have questions about your coverage, please call the member services number on the back of your card, or call your plan administrator. Any claim that is returned unpaid, with the exception of therapist error, is your responsibility to pay.

  • Look on the back of your insurance card for Behavioral Health or Member Services and dial number listed. Listen for the correct prompt to speak with a representative.

  • During a virtual session, be sure to be in a private location, away from distractions and other people in the home. Earbuds are great for optimal privacy. It is preferable to be on a laptop or desktop computer rather than iPhone or other device as reading body language is an important part of the process. Be sure to have a strong internet connection and charged electronic device. Feel free to enjoy a beverage or snack, your comfort is a main priority! Join the session with an open mind and willingness for self-exploration.

  • My office space is in Squirrel Hill in the Louis Building. For your convenience, download the parking app Go Mobile PGH. There is metered street parking along the front and side of the building. As well as a paid parking lot on Bartlett Street that is around the corner. Also, if you drive up any side street a little further from the building, you may be able to find free street parking. Be sure to look out for any street cleaning signs and/or fire lanes.
